Our humble beginnings

In 1994, Richard Clinton our founder and President, then  V.P. of Global Services for a major U.S. turbine manufacturer, was assigned to implement and commission a turbine fuel conversion project, from diesel to natural gas for an important power generation company in Peru, something he successfuly accomplished in record time.

The client was so impressed with Richard's project and team management skills, that they literally handed him over 100% control of 3 additional projects in the region, including 2 brownfield large scale (LSM) mining developments which were already underway. 

In those days, the peruvian large scale mining industry was incipient, Chile was way ahead of the game and already taking avantage of the economy of scale that large haultrucks afforded to immense mining operations.  Peru needed to catch up, and it needed it fast.  The yet inexperienced local pool of professionals at the time relied almost entirely on expats to manage and implement their projects.  Shortage of qualified personnel was a benchmark.

Engineering, supplies, know how., but above all, project management and after sale support were all in the crosshairs of local investors who needed to secure their ROI  for the long term through proper and timely project completion.

Richard managed to complete all projects on target, at the same time making a major investment in setting up the first OTR (Off the Road) Rim overhaul and repair shop for giant haultrucks such as CAT and Komatsu.  Work was performed for Antamina, Barrick and many other large scale mines.  Rim brands like Topy, Titan, Rimex and others were recycled at a fraction of the cost of a new replacement.  This critical pressure vessel welding skill catapulted our team into major mechanical prospects and projects.  Project after project came along seemingly to no end.  

Demand kept growing, as did the mining and all industries in the region, decades of walking the trenches forged Mining Solutions as a high performing engineering, procurement, and technical expertise group, invariably tethered to superbly designed and integrated after sale support structure.   

Today local industry enjoys the collaboration of highly trained local nationals and professionals, by now very experienced and seasoned in all disciplines.  This makes our challenge the more demanding.  We have offices and field technicians in almost all south american countries, along with corresponding shops and well integrated support infrastructure.
